When was the last status report from that camera?

Sometimes it takes a couple of days for GPS to update. Not sure why.

That is definitely a bug in the app and uninstalling/reinstalling won’t fix it. Apparently something broke in the latest update because it was working fine.

Temporary workaround is to log in to my.spartancamera.com, Camera Management and change the camera settings from the portal. I just checked and video lengths are available there, as they should be.

There should be an iOS app update tomorrow or Wednesday that will address that length problem.

If the camera was stolen today you are saying I would not know for days that it was not at my property?

Steven, the camera should update more often, are you getting status reports regularly? Double check and make sure that the time zone is set in the camera settings on the app. Have you looked at the location that the camera shows on the online portal (my.spartancamera.com)?

If you don’t mind, please email me the IMEI for that camera. You can send a screen shot of the status report page on the app. I have someone in tech support who wants to check into this.

John, Yes I am getting status report updates. The time zone is correct. and I have checked the online portal and it also shows that it is at my house not out at my property.

Elizabeth, I'll send that email out shortly. Thanks

I would try turning locator and tracker off and updating the settings, then after they update try turning them back on.

No luck.. still showing my home location not where it is 50 miles away. BTW I have a regular Ghost with GPS that is working fine that is about 100 yards away.

Steve, I just want to verify that after you turned them off the camera sent a picture or status report before you turned them back on?

I updated the Mobile App on my iPhone and tried all the tricks again with no change.  I'll see if I can get up to the property this weekend to get the log files and send them to Tech Support as requested earlier today on a call.

I just checked with my contact. She says that the logs show that the camera is checking in for location at midnight as it should. Engineers think the GPS signal in the area may be weak.

Would it be possible for you to move it to another location for a couple of days to see if it updates there?

I have a regular ghost camera 100 yards from there that gets updated gps on the map. I had that camera in this same location and it showed up perfect. I can move the golive camera next time I’m up there but I don’t think that’s going to help.

Steven, even though the firmware is up to date reloading it might help. Have you ever done a manual firmware update before?

Hi John,  I have done an manual firmware update on older models. I assume it is the same process by loading the firmware on the SD card and updating from the menu. I can try that next time I go out there.

    Hi John,

I just looked on the website and the firmware Action shows as Not available when I look under camera management. Can you tell me how I can download the Firmware? Could this be an issue that the Camera is not updating with your server as the Camera shows that the firmware is up to date and should show Current.

Here's a list with the downloads and instructions under the list. Make sure you get the firmware for your exact camera model.

Hi John,  I looked at that download site and there is no firmware listed for this LiveStream model GL-VLTEb

I went out there and moved the camera to the same location I had my other GPS Ghost working. No luck. I then rest to the default settings. And restarted the camera and now i see the GPS location updated.

I did not refresh the firmware as there is no firmware available on the Spartan Download website for this camera version.

Oh and I moved it back to the location that it did not originally work and it updated the location. So it's working at that location now too.

It must have been some sort of glitch. The camera knows when it's being moved and that can trigger the GPS locator so maybe that got things working again.
