sending pics impact on short pic interval
If you set a cam up on very short interval, like seconds, does it continue to take pictures while the camera is setting and sending the first pic it triggers ? I don’t care if it doesn’t send the following pics because it’s sending others, but does it keep taking and storing them or is the taking of pics interrupted by the sending process ? We’ve have a security issue (locks being cut) so I want to immediately get the first pic (vs batch sending) so I don’t want to postpone the sending by batching on the ghost, but also want it to keep taking pictures when it’s sending the first one.

The Ghost will not take photos while it is sending a photo. The closest thing you can get to that is to use photo + video. The video starts 2 seconds after the photo is taken, the photo will be send (usually in 40-60 seconds) and then the camera will take/send another photo. The video starts 2 seconds after the photo and will cover either the next 5 or 10 seconds.
The GoLive will do what you are looking for during the day when set to photo only and 0 trigger interval. Mine yesterday took/send something like 35 pics in 56 seconds. It’s supposed to take up to 30. It will then send all. At night, it works like the Ghost. In photo + video, it starts recording video at the same time the photo is taken and the video can be up to 30 seconds long.

Sort of makes sense , but then makes you wonder why there are 0, 5, 10 sec options if it can’t take them...even the non ghosts have those low intervals. I guess the batch sending would at least let it continue to take a pic ever 5 sec ? Just wouldn’t get to see them until the batch is sent. We’ve had 3 locks cut in 3 weeks and need to get as many pics as possible.

That’s the “rest” time between when sending is complete and the camera is allowed to take a picture again until you get into the longer times, then it’s time between pics. I’m not sure where the “break over” is, though.
Will photo + video not work?
If there’s no chance of catching them in the act, then switch to batch send and you’ll get lots more photos. If you need to know because you may be able to get there to intercept them, then you don’t want to batch send? -
Have you tried 3 shot burst with 1, 2, or 3 seconds between the photos? That means that the camera won’t take pics until it’s finished sending all three.
Have you considered putting a non cellular black flash camera to monitor the same location to get more photos/longer videos? Use cell for instant notification and less expensive non-cell cam for additional documentation.

When the video completes, it can take another pic , followed by video in 2 sec that isn’t sent but can take another pics soon as it’s recovered from sending , so the gap is prob 30-40 sec because the video closed 10 sec ? That’s a big gap for a lock cutter. It’s 35 min and if the middle of the night even worse. The reason for cell vs non cell is at least I know it happened vs having to wait 4-5 days. I have a feeling it won’t be an unknown person, but never know. I may try batch

Phil,
With photo + video, you would have most of 12 seconds covered. The original photo, then 2 seconds later, the video starts and can record for either 5 or 10 seconds. Would that not be likely to get some of the action?
The GoLive will do a fast send of multiple pics during the day, but at night, it functions like the others. However, you can set it to take up to 30 second videos.
It actually doesn't take 10 seconds longer between photos if you use photo + video. It's probably 4-6 seconds.
All you can do is try it. Simulate piddling with the lock yourself and see what you get.

Got it set up, a few weeks ago I was of the opinion “batch sending” was something I’d never use. Now that I’ve used it and understand there’s a gap of 40-50 sec between the camera taking a pic when in on auto send, it’s a cool feature. Especially since you can set up the sending 10 different times. Not like I’m going to look at real time pics in real time all that often.
I set it up to take a pic + vid every 0 sec, and covered all but a few seconds when I tested me going in the gate. Set it up to send pics ever 2 hours. Interestingly it’s taking a pic at midnight and looking back has been before setting up batching. There is no event set up for midnight. I have 2 other cams taking event pics at 3am with no events set for 3am. No big deal, gremlins I guess.
I can now see batch sending as a good option on a trail or non bait set up so no pics are missed.
