3G vs 4G external power

Helping a friend who got two new 4G ATT, the external power cable from the old 3G will power up the 3G , but not the 4G.   For some reason I thought the power cables were interchangeable for the 6V cams ?

  They should be the same, I know sometimes they are a little tight but should work. What is his camera model on the 4g?

  Just a ref 4G black out. Cable works in the 3G but neither of the 2 new 4G

  Does it plug in and just not power on or doesn't it fit in the hole?

  What is the EXACT model? GC- or GST- or GL- 

  I’m using Spartan battery boxes on an assortment of 3G and various models 4G GoCams without any problems and I’ve sometimes moved battery boxes around and swapped out cameras.

  They are not ghosts (new ones) , I’ll have to walk over and get the exact model they are just like my 4Gs that were upgraded from 3G.  I just tried a cable that Worked on his 3G and it wouldn’t work on my 4G basic black out.   However it only worked on one of his 3Gs, so I guess it’s possible the cable is bad and just a fluke it worked on one of the 3Gs.  I’ve had cables go bad before.
