    Jeff,

When you say they won’t send pictures, do you mean both manual pics and motion-triggered, or have you tried manual?

By “update”, I’m thinking you mean firmware update? Manually or over the air?

    You’ve probably checked premium credits.

Jeff on the camera with no imei try defaulting the camera in the menu settings and turn it off and back on. As far as the camera working inside but not outside it might be that it's working in both locations but on the customers app he has download only on WiFi turned on so he's not getting the pictures away from WiFi. Look on the portal and see if the pictures are there. Even if the download only on WiFi is turn off if the cellular signal to the phone is poor it won't download the pics.

Elizabeth.... when he deployed them they stopped taking pictures.  I think it is and always has been a signal issue.  However, he claims the cameras show full bars when he turns them on and links up.  I had him do a manual test and it wouldn't send the pictures.  So he brought them home and to me.  I tried doing the update over the air but it kept saying failed...so I went online and downloaded and uploaded.  When it uploaded it said the update went correctly but when it tried updating the MPU it says failed and shuts down.  I have tried setting to default and turning off with no luck.  When I look at the information, its missing the IMEI number which was there prior to the update.  I need a copy of the 8-7-2018 Firmware so I can get it back to the way it was.

I don't have any firmware other than the 11/28 one that's on the web site. That's what I'm running on my six (?) A4G cameras.

Did the cameras pass the hello test? Obviously, one that doesn't have an IMEI won't pass anything.

I'm confused because in some places you refer to "camera" and in others, "cameras". Taking some pictures indicates that it (they) had data at some point and a connection.

Double check the data status? It shouldn't be messed up/confused Buy-A-Session vs. Spartan data service but I'd be absolutely sure on those things since you mention that the cameras have never worked right.

I guess you've checked the SD cards and they are class 10 name brand and standard size rather than micro in an adapter.

Format the memory card in the camera and reload the firmware and MCU update. Make sure there's no number in parentheses after the file names. If you can get the MCU update to work then I think that IMEI number will reappear.

I'm gonna have to call the office tomorrow and get them to send me the firmware for the model listed on the post. Ive created more issues than fixing but I now know what I did.  I downloaded the update for the V4gi not the A4gi.  Then after seeing your post I went and downloaded the A4gb file and it did allow it to now link up its still wont work with the wrong profile.  Once I get that fixed Im sure its going to work fine.  Do the signal boosters work pretty good?  I notice there is 2 different ones and was curious how good they work.  Thanks to both of you for trying to help my ignorance tonight!!

Oh, my! No wonder the camera won't work. You loaded a Verizon firmware to it.

If you mean external antennas, my results have been mixed. Not a fan. When they work, they're great. Sometimes they don't. I have one V4Gb that works better with a directional antenna than with the standard paddle antenna. I have another that works better with the paddle than with the directional. That makes absolutely no sense at all.

So I just read something pretty interesting.  These cameras will not work if the towers in the area have not been upgraded to 4G.  I'm wondering if some of the problem could be that?  Whats weird is the customer has At&T cameras by Spypoint and Bushnell set up right next to the Spartans and they work just fine but the Spartans wont even though they show full bars!  However, one of the cameras did work for a few pics until he re positioned it 10 feet and it quit which would eliminate the 4G thing.  It wont send pictures but I would give me status reports of the camera everyday and there were some pics on the cards when he checked them.  The other one just wouldnt do anything which leads me to believe its a signal issue.  Who knows....It shouldn't take a degree to set these things up.

If there's no pics on the card then something else is up. Even with no signal if the batteries are good it should still be taking and saving pictures to the memory card. If it's not batteries then I would think it's a bad or incompatible SD. The cards need to be class 10 and no larger then 32gb, 16 or 8 gb is even better

10' can make a big difference if the signal is poor. Let's get the correct firmware on the camera and then go from there.

Here is what I can say....the camera that wouldn't do anything for 2 weeks has worked just fine all day today here at my house.  I set these cams up and tested them for 2 days before I sent them with the customer.  I think its a signal issue.  I was just trying to make sure there was no updates that I was missing is why I downloaded what I did.  Just didn't pay close enough attention.

The AT&T cameras can work on both 3G and 4G.

I have two 4G cameras less than 10 yards apart, same height in different trees. One shows 2 bars, the other 5.

Read this Elizabeth!  I know you guys know more about these than they probably do but it is being put out there which could hurt sales to some extent.  Just food for thought!! https://www.trailcampro.com/products/hco-spartan-4g-at-t

They don’t know what they are talking about. When we first started testing them, we were running with 3G SIMs. I have run at least a couple of mine with old 3G SIMs because I still had a couple of months left on the data plan. The Verizon’s only work 4G, but not the AT&T.

TCP doesn’t know what they are talking about. One of the negatives for the camera isn’t even so and the other is that it only sends pics to one email address.

Thanks for the help guys!  Everything is working perfectly here at the house as it was before.  I'm convinced its a signal issue and will help them get that sorted out.
