Did it send any pictures at all? I would also try a different memory card. The Sim card, did you register it with Spartan or ATT and what color is the front of the card?

Tried 2 32Gb cards, first was a brand new one then i pulled one from another standard game cam that hads been functional for years and same thing.

As for SIM, Spartan ATT SIM, registered and shows up in account. remote firmware update and status updates go through.  SIM color: Contact side is orange, non contact side is white with a tiny blue ATT logo.

Status report comes through no issue but shows incorrect data.  Checked the SD card(reformatted by the cam but fully functional and still showing way below the 29.5Gig free space. Also temp is off 4 deg, confirmed by thermostat current temp and hit the cam with IR temp gun = 72deg.  What in the world is going on here???

Try defaulting the camera in the menu settings and then turn it off and back on. You did purchase the data through Spartan correct?

I still think it could be a memory card issue. What brand are the cards?

Correct, data through Spartan, as for SD current card which is use in all of my other cams as well is SanDisk 30mb/s, Class 10, 32GB.  Will try defaults.  be right back with results.  Previous card tried was a generic 32 GB class 10. Scrapped that one after first try.

Is your firmware current? Check the date on the third tab, Information against list at below link.

    https://my.spartancamera.com/download

What happens when you try the hello test? Fourth tab, diagnostics, hello test.

What happens when you take/send manual photo? With camera in setup mode, point it at something, press OK to take pic, OK again to send. What does screen say?

If camera says sent, is photo on the portal (web site)?

As for temp, thermometer in camera is not a precision instrument. Also, temp will rise if cam is taking multiple pics in a short time.

    Firmware current.

    Hello Test says Test Successful.

Doesn't seem to give me the function for manual take and sending of a picture.

Turn the camera to set up and let it find signal then press the OK button to take a picture and then press it again to send the picture. SanDisk is a good card, you want class 10 and no bigger then 32gb, 16gb is even better.

The instructions for taking/sending a manual photo were in my message above.

Hello test successful means that the camera is connecting to the network, so you've confirmed that that is not the problem.

SanDisk Ultras, Class 10 32Gb, 4 different ones now that i use in my DLSRs and all the same issue.  Got the manual picture take figured out, says card error on all 4 of them.

Just for the heck of it i popped in a 2Gb Microcenter generic general class SD and the damn thing starts working. WTH?

What's the speed on those SD cards? I have 8 G SanDisk Ultras that are 40 MB/s. I wonder if the 32 may be faster, possibly too fast for the camera. Did you format the cards in the camera?

I see you said 30 MB/s, so it's not that they are too fast. I use very few 32 G cards. I have a couple or three lying around but all my cameras in the field have either 8 or 16 G. They are supposed to work with 32G, I have used 32G.

The DSLR may have put something on the card that the Spartan doesn't like. Try formatting the cards in a computer first, then format in the camera and try it.

the SanDisk Ultras run at 30mb/sec
I cleared and reformatted the cards before i put them in the cam and also ran formatting in the cam on top of that.

Just for giggles i am gonna try my best DSLR card i have just to see what happens.

OK, (i work clinical research and a tech geek also, so yes, i scientifically have to test every option and try to target cause) LOL.

Apparently it just doesn't like a fast talking card.

    • 32Gb SanDisk Ultra C10, doesn't like it at all.  Nothing saved nothing sent.
    • 128Gb(i know over max by overkill but testing): takes and saves photos and video at mach 5 but can't send anything.
    • 2Gb generic basic class: works flawlessly.

Think the main issue here is the firmware that allows cell data to talk to cam and cam to talk to card and in reverse.  Operating system in the cam can't seem to be able to buffer the data from the ridiculously fast card to slower cell transmit speed but the cam itself operates at light speed and saves to card.  FW update maybe to include a protocol for buffering fast cards to slower transmit speeds via cell?(not my area of expertise at all but best guess)

I'm running a bunch of cards that are 40 MB/s, so I don't know that 30 MB/s is the problem. However, all of mine are 8 or 16 G.

AKA maybe new version that includes RAM for buffering transmissions or for current cams, FW that allows allocation of part of the SD card to be used as virtual RAM???

I have some 80 MB/s 16G cards that work, too.

My SanDisk Ultra Plus 128Gb V10, C10, @A1 card:  Holy crap can it fire photos and videos fast and save them with no issues but it just cant send them.  Software/firmware issue i think. Cam has no issue running fast, but cant transmit via cell.  It tried over and over but times out in the end. Flawlessly saved in a fraction of a second and by far fastest performance for photo and video but cant send.  Assuming, Cell transmission cant handle a card feeding data that fast....

it is possible though, my cell phone i run the same card but a 256 Gb and zero issue... still leading to programming/software/firmware could make the cam much better.
