Settings Lost After Battery Removal?

I'm not using my camera for a while. I removed all the batteries so they wouldn't leak and destroy the camera. Are all my settings lost now since the batteries are out of the camera? Is there an internal battery which keeps the settings?

  There is no internal battery. The settings may be lost. You’d probably want to default it anyway. Once you bring it back up, if it’s still on the portal, request a setting update from the portal and take/send a manual photo to get your settings back.
