HD pic time to load
3G ATT cam , requested a HD pic yesterday (26hrs ago) and it’s still in pending status on the ap. I know the camera doesn’t update settings or send HD pics until the next event etc... I have it set to take a pic at 8am and 4pm , it’s taken and sent both of those since the HD request. It’s also taken 1 motion pic and sent since the HD request. The service is typically 3-4 bars , it’s no big deal I’m going out tomorrow anyway but it seems HD requests take longer than they used to.

Took a pic last night P5. External battery should be full. Signal is typically 3-4 bars. It’s sending reg pics fine. Signal is hard to measure though, my phone gets 5 bars in one spot and no service 20yrds away sometimes 😁. The status rep this am had full battery and 3 bars. The 4G cams sure seem to have better recep, I’ve got some of those working in an area where 3G or cell phone gets no service. But this cam awaiting HD is where both cell and cam show 3-4 bars as the norm.

I went out and got the chip (lic plate I needed to read 😁) , it had not sent the HD pic yet, said it still pending . I took a manual pic and noticed it said it was sending 28/88 pics, it counted all 88 But no additional pics were sent vs what was already sent and the HD pic did not come either, even though it said it was completed after going through 88/88. I have noticed before on all cams (have 10) if I take a manual pic and hit send it usually counts down 1/10, 2/10, 3/10 etc.... until it gets to 10, but never sends new pics just the manual Never seen count through 88 🙄. I looked at old records and other HD pics have taken 36 hrs. Oh well, for the actual pic and that gave me what I needed, and is getting a trespasser a visit 🤔

That’s not a count of pics. That’s the one HD pic broken into 88 pieces. When you take/send a manual photo, large thumbnails are something like 8 or 9 or maybe 10 pieces, so you’ll see that count.
What resolution is your camera set to? If it’s set to 8 MP, that’s not necessary because the camera’s native sensor is 5 MP. Use either 3 or 5, but probably 5 since you are looking for details like license plates.
BTW, there are special license plate cameras that do a much better job if this isn’t ideal for your situation. They are pricey and not good at all at night unless you are in a lighted area, but they give much better LP pics than regular cameras. -
Always wondered what that count was, in any event it went through 88 and didn’t send the HD, I’ve sent many over the years and the HD sticker shows up on the original. It wasn’t there, but said complete.
I like the spartan for security, works good for what I need, mostly looking at people coming and going from our hut club, every once in a while a trespasser shows up. Have identified trespassing ATV riders and truck lic plates a few times, but as said night pics don’t show plates, but does alert me someone is or was there. This was not readable with the large thumb but clear with the pic off the chip. He’ll be getting a house call from the game warden.

Are you using a class 10 card in that camera, formatted in the camera?
Very nice catch :).
I meant that the dedicated license plate cameras don’t work well at night. Maybe if they’re in a lit area, like on a city street, but in the middle of nowhere, where there are no lights, it’s a crapshoot. Sometimes you get a readable plate, sometimes you don’tl
