Yes, it should be fine. If you wanted to you could also contact Spartan and get a Sim card from them and use the Spartan data plans, they include the premium credits and have auto renew.

You probably will not be able to use your old SIM. If you remove the device from your account before AT&T cancels it, you can (usually?) reuse the SIM but not after AT&T cancels it.

Thanks all. It would have been nice if AT&T gave me a warning before they cancelled me. I haven't tried reinstating the old SIM card. I may just wait and get a 4G camera and start all over again in the Fall.

You can see if the SIM is still good by adding the camera back to your account but not buying a data plan.

Johnny, does the deal you posted apply to the Ghost cam, or just the regular 4G cams?

Is that trade in from 3g to 4g still in effect and how do you go about to do it

Yes it is, give Spartan a call on Monday.

    Mmkconstruction,

It’s not a trade-in, it’s an upgrade program. You don’t send in your old camera, you keep it, and you get a new one, too.

So I was able to get my old SIM activated again online after AT&T cancelled it for inactivity. Bought a 3 month plan and one credit. Do I need to reregister my camera in the camera's menu again? I tried that and it failed. The SIM card worked fine in another member's camera I was using but that has an issue where it won't send pictures anymore. I did not have to reregister that camera.

Does your camera pass the hello test?

No, it did not pass the hello test. My camera finds the carrier and a 5 bar signal. When I take a test picture and try to send it it says setting for a few seconds and then nothing. I tried defaulting several times and different class 10 Sandisk cards formatted in the camera.

Is the camera still showing on your account? Is the cameras firmware up to date? Check the information screen on the camera and make sure the IMEI number that's on the screen matches the one on the cameras sticker.

I believe the FW is current. Last update shows it was 1/31/18 on the portal. DataConnect Pass website is down for maintenance today. I will check that to see if  my data plan is still active when they are back online. IMEI numbers match.

Turned out to be the switch. I took the camera apart and soaked the switch with contact cleaner then slid the switch up and down several times. After the cleaner dried the switch worked. Now the camera is working fine. Thanks for all the help.
