What happens when you take/send a photo manually? What does the screen say? What model camera (GC-what)?

Have you tried a different SD card? (Class 10, formatted in the camera)

Have you checked the portal to see whether the pics are making it there but not to the app?

I may have forgot how to take a photo but when I go to “setup” after initializing, I hit “ok”’twice and then it says “setting”
    For a while then “fail”

    GCV4Gb

SD card is a SanDisk 128gb Extreme Pro. Have not tried anything else.

The portal does not have the pictures either .

Those cameras cannot use an SD card any larger than 32 G. It’s probably failing because of that. Do you have a lower capacity SD card?

Also, it needs to be a standard sized SD card, not a micro SD in an adapter.

Is there anyway to delete all photos from an SD card all at once when in the camera?

Yes. In setup mode, third tab, Format. You really want to do that when you put an SD card in the camera whether it has pics on it or not.

I also might add that I have not been getting my weekly status reports either.

So I put my old 8gb SD card in that worked all of last year perfectly in, formatted it, look a
Picture and tried to send it and it said “failed”

What class is that 8G card? 4 or 10? (Number in a little circle)

You may want to reset the camera to default (third tab). Then see if it will take/send manual photo. If it does, then you’ll want to request a setting update from the app (you don’t need to change anything) and then take/send another manual photo or two.

Before you do any of that, please try the hello test. Once the camera is logged into the network, fourth tab, Diagnostics, hello test. If it passes that, you do have a data connection. If it doesn’t, then there’s something wrong with the data/network connection.

    The hello test failed

For whatever reason, you don’t have a data connection. Is your camera on your Verizon account? If so, you may need to call them and verify that the camera is on the account an active.

Is your old SD card class 10?

SD card is a 4. No reason why my account with Verizon would be an issue as it is in the same plan as other devices. I will check though. Is there a limit to the amount of photos per month that can be sent? Can’t remember. I did have a branch in front of it causing it to take a crazy amount of photos.

You are lucky that the class 4 card worked. I’m suspicious of it.

There’s no logical reason that your Verizon account should be an issue BUT it’s always best to check. There’s no limit on the number of photos. The camera uses your account data to send pics, no counting involved. If there were any kind of problem as far as data usage goes, it would affect your other cameras.

Do you have a class 10 card that is 32G or less, name brand (like SanDisk), standard size that you can try?

You’re welcome. I just hope that fixes the problems. I have seen so many oddball things be caused by the “wrong” SD card, things that you would not think an SD card could possibly cause. I run nothing but class 10 cards in my cell cams.

So I went out and bought a new SanDisk 16GB “10” SD card. Put it in camera and formatted it. It took a few pictures but still nothing sent.

Are you taking the manual photos while the camera is in set up mode? If so what does it say on the screen after you press OK the second time to send the picture now that you have a new memory card in the camera? If you want to email me your portal log in information I can take a look at things for you, my email is johnny.lockburner@spartancamera.com
