Flooded External Battery

I have a go cam powered by two 6 volt 12 ah batteries housed in an enclosure set at the base of the tree below the camera.

This camera is in Missouri, I’m in NY. Judging by the photos the area flooded. I’m assuming the battery box was submerged and the camera wasn’t.

After the initial flooding I was still getting pics but haven’t gotten any in some time, not even my scheduled events. I’m assuming the boxes filled with water and shorted the batteries. Will this harm my camera?

  There's no way to know for sure but I would think the camera is probably ok. I wonder if the battery box might have floated away and unplugged itself.

  Never thought of that. Its possible. Picture of the day i deployed camera, the day before flood and the day after flood.

  Also look like that dead tree fell pretty close to the camera, maybe it unplugged the cable.

  I had some rechargeable internals AA batteries as well. Maybe it was running in those for a week or so after the cable was unplugged. Never did I get a picture under a P5 though.

  Internal rechargeable typically don’t give P5, or not for long.

  Rob make sure you look at night time pictures when checking the P#, it's more accurate

  Camera miraculously started sending scheduled event and motion activated pics on Saturday. 23 days after my last contact with camera

  What's the P# on the pics? Maybe the camera did get wet and needed to dry out a little.

  217 was the last one I got until Saturday. Which was 240
