Is the cameras firmware up to date? Do you have any pending commands from when the camera was out before? If so cancel them. What is your cameras model number?

First thing I would try is a new class 10 memory card, 32gb or smaller and then we'll go from there. It might just be the poor signal, do you have somewhere else to take it and try it to see if it's better with more bars of service?

There is a 16 gb card in it . I have 5 bars at my house but after a 10 minutes wait to connect never had this issue till this last data plan I purchased Friday.
And as stated it has no signal and won’t connect at a previous location I had it at for years

I just want to clarify, it is connecting but taking a long time or it's not connecting at all?

Have you double-checked your BAS account to be sure that there is actually a data plan on that camera. I would do that just to be absolutely, positively sure that your purchase did go through.

Is the antenna connection secure? Have you cleaned the SIM connectors, either by rubbing them against your jeans or using a pencil eraser? There’s always a chance that the SIM has gone bad.

Johnny’s SD card suggestion is definitely the first thing to try, but since you are having obvious connection problems, I’d definitely check the things I listed since those are all connection-related.

Go into diagnostics on the camera and you will find a Hello test, see if the camera passes or fails. If possible I would take the camera somewhere that you know the signal is good.

Did all the above comments before I posted this issue. Yes I did pass the Hello test again the issue is not connecting from the server AT&T it is not picking up the signal in the woods and is trying to find it like I said it has 4:5 bars at my home after a long wait time. The screen actually goes dormant at times and still nothing connected heading to AT&T to see if they can determine the issues.

Try defaulting the camera in it's menu. If that doesn't help then you can also change the APN setting. It's in the diagnostics menu, password is 1-2-3-4-5-6. If it's set to APNbr change it to APNbl and vice versa. Press OK when asked and back out to the main menu. After you are back at the main menu turn the camera off and then to setup. Once it finds signal take and send a manual photo and see if it's better.

I'm guessing that ATT told you this?

Yes they are getting lots of complaining from cell phone folks with the same issues. They are not sure when the 3g will be blacked out.
Looks like the end is coming soon.

It will be a long time before there's a 5g anything, there's not really even any 5g cell phones right now. Att has said on their website that some time in 2022 is when 3g will be gone, it might be January 1st of 2022 but who knows. If you want to get a 4g camera because you own a 3g you can buy a 4g standard model for $250. You get to keep the 3g and use it as long as 3g is available and after that it will still work as a standard, non cellular trail cam.

    That’s true I about 5g but that’s what’s next on the wireless phone/Cameras.
It looks like since the signal strength is cut back on 3g now going forward. Well my camera is a non wireless now lol .

You could always try a better antenna and see if it helps.

Did that 2 years ago as my original antenna was chewed on by a small bear.
I replaced it with one with extended capacities.

You could always try the 4g paddle antenna. That extended antenna was hit or miss for me. There's a directional antenna too.

I was not sure about the paddle antenna going on my 3g camera has anyone seen any improvement with it?

I have used it on my 3g and it has helped on some and others I didn't notice much improvement.
