Even with a zero delay the camera won't take another picture until it's done transmitting the previous image

The camera has 4 bars of service. I could see it taking about 20-30 seconds between pics or even close to a minute but it is taking 2-5 minutes.

That camera is a little slower to transmit than the later 4G cameras. It will typically take a minute and a half or sometimes more. The 4G cameras are also more sensitive to lower signal, so 4 bars on it does not indicate really great signal.

None of the cameras (and the 3G ATTxb is the fastest performing model), is as little as 20-30 seconds. The xb is 35-45 seconds, the 4G cameras are closer to a minute (50 seconds, give or take) with 5 bars.

Ok thanks.  I just don't remember it being so slow last season.

You can test by walking around in front of it constantly until you’ve gotten 3 or 4 pics, then calculating the difference between the time stamps on the photos.

Yes I’ve done that and it is taking 2-4 minutes between triggers.

Put it on one shot burst and see how fast it will take back to back pictures and we'll go from there. You can also set it to 30 second time lapse and see what the interval is between photos.

On one pic burst the interval between pics is right around 2 minutes.  Still showing 4 bars of service.

That is the most current. Have you tried 30 second time lapse to see how fast it will send those pictures?

No but I will. It’s set on 15 seconds now and taking about 2 minutes between

Camera was just triggered and it took 4 minutes between the 2 pics on a 30 second trigger interval setting. I will watch to see if that’s about average or it maybe there was just low cell signal. However the status report shows 4 bars of service at the time of trigger.

Try 0 seconds, please. That’s two and a half minutes between pics, which seems long. However, these cameras are really picky about signal. I’m doing good to have 2 or 3 bars even with a directional antenna. Mine are in locations where there isn’t a lot of constant activity so it’s hard for me to measure transmission speed.

Is the SD card a name brand class 10 standard-sized card, 32 G or less, formatting in the camera? Is the speed 40, 48, or 80?

Can you post the date/time on a scheduled event status report? That may be a little challenging, but if you could set an event for a time when you can get to it before you get another picture, that would be nice. I’m curious to see the time.

SD card is a new SanDisk Class 10 16GB 48 Mb/s that was formatted in the camera. I have previously set the camera to send a status report each night at midnight. So I will post the date/time in the morning if I can catch it before it gets triggered.
Also I will change the trigger interval to 0 after I check the status report in the morning. Thanks for the help troubleshooting!

If you would, go ahead and schedule some status reports between now and 7 or 8 in the morning. Hopefully there will be something passing by during the night to trigger the setting update and you’ll have a decent chance of getting one of those status reports tomorrow morning. I’m curious how much time it takes for the camera to get that status report to you. If the seconds are less than one minute after the scheduled time, that’s what I’d expect, but if it’s a minute or two or three, there’s something delaying the report.

I don't know if it would make a difference but you could try an 80 Mb/s SD card

The camera was triggered a few times overnight AFTER the scheduled status report time. However when I checked the status report this morning it still shows data from the scheduled report rather than after any of the later pics. The scheduled report was for midnight (0:00) and the time shown on the report is 00:01:36.
