choice of AT&T vs. Verizon

If you have an unlimited data plan with Verizon and can add the cell cameras to your plan then that probably would make me say Verizon. Also Spartan has the discount on the 4g cameras if you own a 3g. You can get a 4g standard model for $250 and you get to keep your 3g and use it as long as there is 3g service from the cell carriers. I don't know if you have a 3g Verizon if you can get a 4g att, you would have to check with the main office but if you are going to take advantage of the upgrade program that might be a determining factor as well.

If you’re going to use the Spartan data plans, which include both data and premium service, it doesn’t matter, because the plans cost the same for AT&T and Verizon.

If you have a Verizon cell phone plan, find out what taxes and fees are over and above the $5/month to get a total data cost per month. I pay a little over $9/month to Verizon for my one camera. Compare that to AT&T BAS at $75/1 year (if you are running cameras all year).

The Spartan plans are convenient. They autorenew. Cost is about what the 3 month BAS + premium costs, but BAS (and possibly Verizon) may be less for longer periods.

You have to buy different AT&T SIMs (available on Amazon for about $13 for a pair, I think, also probably available on eBay) if you want to use BAS. The Verizon SIM that comes with the cameras can be activated either for Spartan plans or through Verizon.

Bottom line is that there is no “best” answer.
