Camera Keeps Taking Pictures With no Trigger
My camera is 4 hours away being used as a security camera and I had to turn off the notifications on my phone as it continues to take pictures even though nothing is there to trigger the camera. I have tried updating the firmware and nothing seems to help. It is taking hundreds of pictures each day and has been for some time. I went down this weekend and shut off the power and the re started it hoping it would help but so far it is still snapping pics every 5 to 10 minutes.

Does it do it only during certain times of the day or is it all day and all night? Is it watching an area that has both bright sun and heavy shade, or the wall of a building that’s in direct sun? Is there vegetation close to the camera?
The next time you go to the camera, put it inside a drawer or closet or face down in a box. If it takes pictures in that situation, it needs to be repaired or replaced. If it doesn’t then is there any way you can adjust the location to reduce or eliminate what may be triggering it?
What sensitivity are you using? Normal is typically the best setting.

it does it all day long and all during the night also. There are drastic changes in the sun/shade but it continues to take pics all night long, well after the sun has gone down. I have switched the sensitivity thru all of the settings. It is pointing at a concrete slab where our travel trailer is parked. I had thought maybe it was too close to the travel trailer, but we moved the travel trailer out last weekend and it continues to take pics constantly. There is no vegetation in the area. I guess I will have to try your suggestion about the box, only problem there is that it is 4 hours away and 15 feet up in the air. There is another camera mounted within 20 feet of this one and it is actually pointed in the grass and it has no problems.

That all night thing is not good. The next time you are there, stick it in a box. If it’s still taking pictures while face down in a box, you’ll need to email support@spartancamera.com and start the return process.
