Camera showing that it’s taking pic.....never sends
If I set my camera to send a test pic....it works.
However, when I have it in the field, it shows a red light as if it’s taking a pic, but I never receive it.
I get about 2 pics a day. I know for certain there is way more action on my camera, but I’m not receiving the pics.
What the heck???

Landon, I was asking about your cellphone being ATT or Verizon. Verizon has been filtering the pictures so people with Verizon cellphones haven't been getting the pics being texted to them for a couple of weeks, sometimes one or two get through but that's it. If you have an ATT or some other carrier cellphone then you may have a different issue.

Turn the camera to setup and go into the menu and change from auto to instant/premium and then go back to the main menu. On the app hit the plus symbol to add a camera and enter or scan the cameras IMEI number and enter it, then in the cameras menu find the register camera option and hit OK and the camera should give you a registration code, enter that in the app and enter that and the camera should appear in the app automatically. The IMEI number should be on a sticker on the camera itself, if not go into information in the menu and it will be there.

Landon,
We understand that you are frustrated, but neither Johnny nor I have crystal balls and we can’t read minds. We have to ask questions in order to try to figure out what’s going on.
You have provided conflicting information about where you get your data service. Either you bought a data plan from Spartan Camera or you bought a data plan from AT&T. Which is it? The Spartan Camera plan includes premium service. AT&T is usually through Buy-A-Session although some people add it to their phone plans. The latter is not your situation since you don’t have an AT&T cell phone.
I think it’s probably through AT&T BAS, especially if you are using the SIM that came with the camera. The older cameras used BAS, the latest models come with Spartan Camera SIMs.
You said you were using auto. Johnny gave you the steps for switching the camera over to premium and using the app. You do have to be at the camera to do a good bit of the steps.
The two pics a day is puzzling. Is it exactly two pics a day? Are they at the same time every day or at different times? Is there any chance that daily limit has been set to 2 rather than left at 0? If you were running premium and had two scheduled picture events and had sensitivity turned off, that would cause this behavior, but it doesn’t sound like you’ve been running premium so I don’t think that’s the cause.

Thanks for the quick replies. I understand the need to ask questions. Maybe I can be more clear with this response since I now have the camera in front of me and I am at my office desk rather than on my cell.
I have an older model camera, one in which I had to use the Buy a Session AT&T website. I recently renewed my data plan for this upcoming season. While doing so, it was discovered through another thread, and emails back and forth with Spartan that a new SIM card was needed. I replaced the SIM card and all was seemingly well. The camera now has no problem connecting and sending a test pic. What I have found puzzling is that I get about 2 random photos a day. Usually one middle of the night, and one early 5:30-6:30 in the morning. Then, I won't get another picture for the rest of the day.
With all of this said, I have used the camera with much success last year and have not changed any settings, etc. (that I am aware of).
- Mode is set to Photo, 5M size, 1 photo
- Sensitivity is set to Normal, 30 second intervals
- Wireless settings: Instant Mode, Send via Auto, the recipients are my cell # and my email address, Image from is On, Realtime is Off
I have never received any pictures on the App, however just yesterday bought 6 premium credits.
Hopefully this is enough info to provide you details on the camera and it's current settings.
Thanks,

OK, hopefully ATT got you set up the correct way, since you are getting some pictures they probably did. Lets try and get the camera sending pics to the app and then we can go from there. Once the camera is set up on the app and using premium it makes it easier to check things and see what's going on.

I'm surprised you got the email unless you set it up on the portal. If your phone number is entered on the camera it won't send to that anymore. You must have entered your email in the contacts on the portal. Turn the camera on and lets see how it reacts. On the app go to status reports and request a report from the camera.

At this point, my camera hasnt taken a picture in my office. So, i'm thinking there is more to this story. I have walked in front of it and rolled around in my office chair trying to get it to trigger a picture. I almost guarantee that it's taking them, but not uploading to the app. Which is what i discovered was happening in the field. When i pulled the card and stuck it in the computer, all the pics were there. It's just not sending them.
