Camera quit connecting... Again.

Everything has been perfect until Sunday when I changed SD cards, cycled the camera off/on, had signal, closed it up and made the 2 hour drive home. Didn't get anymore pics until I drove back there yesterday, put in another new SD card, fooled with it for 20 mins trying to get it to work, FW update says "file does not exist" then restarts the camera. I hit the default setting and it started working again. Last evening it went down again, I can't get a status report and can't do the firmware update. Through all this customer service hasn't been very helpful. Send an email, they respond at the end of the day so by the time I can respond they've already gone home. Can't get a hold of anyone on the phones either... Is this normal???? I need to purchase more cameras but I also need a company that will be responsive when there's problems. Currently I'm waiting on a phone call and email to be responded to, hopefully I don't have to make another four hour drive.

    Did you copy the firmware file to the SD card? Did you make sure that the file name was just letter and numbers with no spaces, parentheses, or numbers within parentheses. 

    Are you taking/sending at least one manual photo when you change the SD card? Are you formatting the SD card in the camera (AFTER the FW update, not before, because doing it before erases the FW file)?

    Are you using the app or text? 

    This is the busiest time of the year. Sometimes it takes a couple of days for emails and calls to be returned. Those are returned in the order received.

    No, I have been trying to do the FW update remotely, or by hitting the setting on the camera itself. Until my most recent email was responded to I didn't know anything about the other above mentioned steps.I was instructed to see if it updated at midnight. it didn't, that's when I drove up there and tried to get it working on my own.  

    I'm using the app.

    And, I just got one random picture sent to me. Is this a symptom of a firmware issue? or something else?

    Mike, I would say it's either firmware or bad/incompatible SD card. To use that update firmware button on the camera the firmware needs to be loaded on the SD card. Here's a link to the updates and instructions.
