Another issue with no photos
4 of my cameras are no longer taking or sending photos. They are GC-Z4GB models on Verizon. Reading other posts I suspected it was my SD cards which were Class 4. Now I have SanDisk 32GB Class 10 cards but issue persists. New batteries in each. Network connectivity seems good. Hello test worked. I see updated info under Manage Cameras on the portal after I turn camera on and when the daily status report is sent. I have daily limit set to zero. When I first turn the camera on it will take 1 photo but will not send it. It will not take any additional photos after the first one. If I turn the camera off and restart it will take another photo but will not send and will not take any additional photos.

Are there any commands pending for any of the cameras? That “frozen” camera thing seems to happen when the camera is processing an HD photo or video request or downloading FW (the latter would not be your situation).
Did you format the SD card in the camera? You probably did, but you didn’t mention it.
The cameras passing the Hello test means that they do have a network connection, so that’s good.
Cancel any pending commands.
Try defaulting the camera (setup, MENU, third tab, Default). Then see if you can take/send. If you can, then you can request a setting update, take/send another manual photo to trigger it.

Thanks for your reply - much appreciated. There are no pending commands. Cards were formatted in cameras. I did the default action on the camera but still cannot send manual photos. It tries and retries then fails.
When I put the formatted SD card in my laptop, it is named "VOLUME1" and contain 2 folders: "DCIM" and "LOGS". DCIM has a subfolder "100KDSP1" with the photos. LOGS has two TXT files. Does that seem like a proper format?
To further complicate matters, between my last post any your reply, one of the cameras was able to send a photo. I see there are additional photos on the SD Card that were not sent. The photos on the card are several minutes apart despite constant movement in front of the camera. Trigger interval is set to zero and time lapse interval is off.

Sorry. You’re not the person getting pics to email. Scratch the last message.
The reason that the photos are several minutes apart is because the camera tries, fails, retries a couple of times. While it is trying to send, it can’t take more pics.
Have you contacted tech support about this? I’m thinking that this is going to require a different level of support than we can provide here.

Here's a link to the downloads and instructions. Make sure you use the firmware for your exact camera model

Thanks, John. I downloaded the FW to my laptop and copied onto the SD card and then manually updated the camera. This did not solve the problem. Camera continues to take 1 photo then seems to freeze or experience long lag. Photo is never sent and then there are long lags between photos on SD card. I did another Default on the camera. Then I attempted another manual photo but again it tries, retries, and fails.

I know you have several cameras and several SD cards. Have you tried one of the other SD cards in the camera? It’s a real long shot, but that’s something you can try. I don’t expect that you’ll get different results, but if you’ve only been using one SD card while testing this, maybe try another and format it in the camera.
If you’ve already done that, never mind.

Kevin, if you want to send me your portal log in information and I'll take a look for you. My email is johnny.lockburner@spartancamera.com

Yes I will send. A little more info for you... I have several cameras in the field in addition to the few referenced above. I noticed on or about September 16 that the number of photos from the cameras in the field declined dramatically. Several have not sent photos since mid-September while others send only an occasional photo. So I think this is a bigger issue with Verizon connectivity. Further, on the cameras at home, when I turn off the wireless feature the cameras operate normally taking photos within seconds apart and saving on SD cards. In addition to the GC-V4GB cameras, I have one GC-V4GB camera in the field that is operating with no issues whatsoever. I sent a message to Spartan tech support last night but have not received a response.

Tech support is slammed. It may be a day or two before they are able to get back to you.
Check the status report for every camera. If they checked in after midnight today, they are still connected to the network although it may be precarious.
on the portal, look a5 the pics for each camera.nif there are gaps, the camera is taking pics but not able to send them all.

Christian,
Cancel the pending updates. Can you get to your cameras? If so, you'll want to do a manual firmware update.
You can download the firmware from this page. The instructions are below the table that lists the FW files.
