just activated this camera
GC-A4Gb
Just Activated this camera and set it up in the app and it seemed to be working fine. Found out the camera needed a firmware update. Updated it then after the update I get this notification on the screen.

They aren't that much cheaper since the Spartan plans include the premium credits. If you want to use ATT you can get a different SIM card, just make sure you go through buy a session, some of the other plans don't work. If you decide to use Spartan data you will have to cancel and delete the ATT plan and then purchase the Spartan plan.

You can do the three month Spartan plan for $36, that's $144 for the year and includes the premium credits. ATT is $75 for the year plus your $36 for a years worth of premium credits, that's $111 total cost. Difference of $33. The Spartan plans auto renew as well so you don't have to deal with that. It's not exactly the same but not astronomically different. That $199 Spartan plan includes a lot of data that some customers need/use with a bunch of video transmissions

Johnny meant $36 for 3 months, not one month.
does the SIM that came with the camera have a sticker on it with instructions to get data from Spartan?
Don’t go to an AT&T store. They know nothing about Buy-A-Session or DataConnect plans. They will sell you something you don’t want. Get a bring your own device SIM from Amazon, eBay, Wal-Mart, Best Buy.
Also, if you run your camera all year, AT&T is cheaper. For people who run 3 months, it isn’t. $30 for BAS plus $9-12 for credits is more than $36 for the Spartan plan, although it is more data (2G rather than 1). For 6 months, AT&T is $45 plus $18-$24, so a little bit less than the $72 for Spartan. If someone only wants to run camera for 4 or 5 months, they can pay for just that time with Spartan, not with AT&T, so it just depends on your needs as to which is the better way.
