I wish it was even that clear cut.

I get a status report on all my cameras every day, all have always shown 5.7v on just 12 Energizers lithiums (for the last 3mos), and every photo shows P5 - yet the app indicator sometimes shows the little battery "full" (all orange) and sometimes less than half orange (1 or 2 bars). As of this eve, cameras have ranged from 299 to 1208 5MP photos and 10sec (1024x576) videos.

You didn’t say which model cameras, but the older models only send a status report when it’s requested. The newer models send one with every picture. With the older models, it’s quite possible for the status report to show one thing and the P number to not match the battery indicator. I don’t know whether you have any older models, though, since you mention photo + video.

Bradley, lithium batteries sometimes give you you almost no warning when they die because of their higher voltage. If you are starting to get varying reports from the camera it probably means the lithium batteries are going to need to be changed very soon. Keep an eye on that P# in the lower right corner of the picture, especially night pictures. When that changes that's a very good indication of batteries low since that number is at the actual time the photo is being taken and using the flash.
