Movement not triggering camera

Can you post that picture please? Are you using any start/stop times. Also it takes movement of heat for the camera to sense, it's not just movement on it's own, there must be a temperature difference.

That deer looks pretty far away and if it walked directly towards the camera that might be why it didn't detect. I would definitely keep an eye on it though. Maybe set up time lapse to run at dusk for an hour or two every 10 or 15 minutes for a couple days as a way to check. Just make sure when using start stop times that they incorporate all 24 hours of the day, times outside of the start stop windows the camera is basically off to movement.

Maybe lower the camera on the tree a bit and/or tilt is down a little so that the deer is a little higher in the frame. It needs to move across the frame to trigger. As Johnny said, if it walked straight in from the back, it may not have crossed any trigger zones. You’ll get better photos if there’s any way to move the camera closer to the bait.

Yes I agree the camera could be tilted more so the bait pile is in the center of the frame. Also the camera could be closer. This is my first cell cam. I'll definitely be more careful with placement next time.

    Quick question
Does turning the status report off save battery life? I notice every time a picture is sent it also sends a status report.

two things, it won't make any noticeable difference and you can't turn that off anyways.

Ok thanks but I did turn it off in the camera settings on the app. Now its scheduled once a day and not automatically whenever a pic is sent

It's still sending it probably, just not giving you a separate notification.

With the 4G cameras, a status report is sent with every picture. If Android, you just turned the notification off, not the actual sending of the status report.
