In the past, I have been able to request a camera take a picture. I want to check a gate. That feature is now gone. Why?

  It’s been gone from every model since the ATTxb. I think that it may not have worked reliably with the newer models. The old 3G models were designed back in texting days. Current models are data.

  Some people have had luck turning power save off and texting a command to their cameras but my brief attempt was unsuccessful. Johnny should have more info.

  Might you be able to use scheduled events to take pictures at specific times or time lapse to take them at specific intervals? What is happening at the gate that won’t cause a motion trigger?

  I have the same issue and for what I need for is important.  I rescue animals and if I need a real time verification this is what I did, *500#.  That is gone.  I have a GC-A4Gb/GoCam and it used to work.  It's for me a selling point.  If I can't do that I will need to find a different trail cam that has this feature.  Do any of the newer cameras like the GoLive cam have this ability.

  Michael, the GoLive does have the take a picture now feature as well as being able to turn the camera on to watch live what's happening in front of it.
