I have a Google pixel phone. For some reason when the app downloads a picture it automatically adds it to the photo album on my phone. So I have 1000 photos saved on my phone that I have to go in and manually delete. I can't turn it off. When I turn off automatic download it won't download pictures into the app. I have talked to other Droid users with same issue. Doesn't seem to effect apple phones.

  You don’t need to delete the pics manually. Set purge days (in the app, Settings) to something short ( I use 7 days) and the app will delete them automatically after that number of days. The default is 30. When viewing in the gallery, use Album view to make it easier to find what you want.

  iOS just hides them somewhere. The file system on Android is open and visible. Not so with iOS.

  To add to what Liz said if you delete those pictures from your phones gallery they won't be accessible in the app when you go to click on and view an individual image.
