6V Solar Panel

recently plugged a 6V solar panel with internal batteries  into my camera and fried it. so it smells. 1) is there anyway to change out the board to repair the camera or is it repairable at all? 2) what did I do wrong so I don't do it again..

btw great cameras please don't change what you been doing its the first cameras ive had last longer than a year

    Get in touch with tech support and see what they suggest. When using a solar panel you need some sort of solar controller to limit the voltage to the camera. In full sun most 6v panels can put out up to 10 volts which is way too much for the 6v camera to handle.
