Are rechargeable batteries a option?

Yes, they won't last as long as lithium but if you have easy access to your camera it's a good option. The battery indicator will show low sooner as well because rechargeable batteries have a lower voltage to begin with but they will work. You can also go with an external SLA battery too which will last as long or longer than the lithium.

Thanks for the follow up John.  Out of all the cams you sell, which one will a set of batteries last the longest?  I currently have a few 3g's going but understand they will soon be obsolete.  Do batteries last longer on the newer style cams?  Again, thanks for your time.

Yes, the 4g cameras generally get better battery life. The Ghost has a built in rechargeable battery that helps give a little better battery life over the standard 4g models but it also allows you to connect a solar panel right to the camera and not need any batteries at all. If you are set up on a feeder with a very short delay the solar only with no batteries might struggle but for most sets it does just fine. I've been running one for a year now with a solar panel only and can get 60 pics a day easily and the camera keeps up.
