App notification, but no new photo.

I receive a new photo notification from my app every 15-30 seconds. Although, there is nothing in front of the camera, and once I open the app there is no new photo. When there actually is something in front of the camera, I still receive a notification and the picture shows up on the app. It's almost as if it's sending a notification based on the trigger time, without taking a picture.

  Try logging out of the app and back in. Are you sure it's a photo notification and not a status report? What is the camera model?
