Paul, the update may (hopefully) correct all the issues that you're having

Evidently, my problem was an ATT issue.  All my cameras in Oklahoma quit at 9:30 on Monday and all randomly restarted sending at 5:30 Thursday afternoon.

I have not heard anything about ATT shutting down yet, do you have the cameras in hand or access to them? No status reports at all from the cameras?

I'll be there tomorrow morning, but I haven't had anything from them since both sent the last status report @ 11:00 on the 27th, and one photo I have set to send a pic @ noon everyday. I've tried requesting photos and status but nothing comes back.

Both cameras need a firmware update so that could be causing the issues. The second report that you posted is showing low battery and very low signal too. I would do a manual firmware update to both cameras because if they don't connect you won't be able to do over the air, especially with as old as that firmware is. Here's a link to the updates and instructions on how to do it. You have the cameras without the firmware update option in the menu so you'll follow those instructions.

I've tried numerous times to update the firmware "over air" but nothing happens, even left it pending for days before. I'll try and do it via the sd card method. Up until this they have both performed fairly flawlessly. The one that shows lower battery has started chewing up batteries the past month (two full sets) and the infrared hasn't been working on night pics.

Johnny gave you the link to the dOwn load page. Here are the instructions. You will need to put the firmware file on two SD cards since you need to update two cameras.

My three 3g cameras on ATT quit sending pictures in NW Oklahoma on Monday morning about 9, but my camera in Nacogdoches TX is still sending pictures as of this morning.  I’ve done multiple “hello tests”, and they’ve all failed even though the camera shows to have 3 bars.
I assume ATT shut off 3g early in Alfalfa county Oklahoma.

Does anyone know anything about others losing service in that area?!?

    Jeff,

Hello test failing means that cameras don't have a data plan. They see signal but don't have permission to use it. Check your data plans and try different SD cards.

The problem is absolutely caused by outdated firmware.  AT&T has recently changed something in their signal so that many old firmware versions stopped sending photos.  I had six that did it about 6 days ago.  Manually update the firmware and it will start working immediately.

Jeff, what are your camera models?

My data plans are all current, so I know that’s not the issue.  My cameras are all older 3g models.

My camera's also failed the hello test.  I also had the 2015-2016 firmware.  A manual firmware update to the 2018 version fixed it all.

Lee, outdated firmware can for sure be a problem. Glad you got it up and running.

Jeff what are your specific model numbers? They should be GC- followed by a few numbers and letters

    GC-ATTi-KT (S150)

I’ve got two more in the field I don’t have access to at the moment.

Jeff, from the app you can see the firmware dates, can you give those to me please? Or post screen shots of the status report pages from the app.

I use ATT buy a session not the app.

The app is just where you receive the pictures, it has nothing to do with the data plan. Do you use the app for receiving your pics? Are you running your cameras on premium or Auto?

My cameras are on auto, and I receive pictures on my Gmail email.

If the firmware is old that very well could be the issue. There's also a chance the pictures are being treated as spam and being blocked, they might also be in the spam folder but you would most likely notice that. It's a possibility that ATT 3g is being shut down but I haven't heard of anything about that happening yet.

Saw the other thread about someone else's cameras coming back up and sure enough, I sent a pic request to mine and at least one sent the pic and a status report. The one camera that had full battery is the one working, so I suspect the other one is dead since it's been the one acting up lately and chewing up batteries. The #1 camera is still going strong on the first set of batteries, while #2 has gone through two sets. I'm going to update the firmware on both tomorrow anyway, so we'll see if that fixes the issues #2 is having.

    Paul,

The cameras coming back up are Verizon. Definitely update your FW. Good luck!

Elizabeth, thank you, I was aware of that, just made me think to try mine, and Voila my att was back as well.

Updated firmware and both cameras are sending pics when triggered by motion, #2’s issue with infrared seems to be fixed as well. Now both cameras are not responsive to commands sent “over air”. Checked the settings and everything looks to be good on that end.

Jeff, that timeline could very well fit my scenario as well. I’m kind of thinking that may have been the main issue. Thinking about upgrading to ghosts and see if they perform any better

Paul, my camera in the Nacogdoches area didn’t experience the same outage as the ones in Oklahoma.  That camera ended up needing new batteries and to have the SIM card reinserted, and after I fixed those issues, it’s was sending during the time period I mentioned.  There still may have been a glitch in the Nacogdoches/Lufkin area, but with ATT cell service as intermittent as it normally is, I don’t know how you could tell for sure.
