No pictures
I submitted a post earlier b/c I wasn't receiving any photos. I replaced the SD card and it worked....for a while. I have now gone through 4 SD cards. I am using the recommended SD card. I even tried using a "non recommended" SD card. I format the cards. I test. I blow out the SD and Sim card slots. I checked firmware. I read through the other posts and I have tried everything. I am spending a lot of time driving miles to fix the camera, which is costing a lot of time and money. What is causing the SD to corrupt? Is the camera bad? Thank you.

You didn’t mention the model camera. Do you have the option to format the SD card from the app? Is there any pattern to when the SD cards seem to mess up? (I have a couple of cameras that quit sending pics when the SD card has about 150 MB left empty, even though overwrite is on.)
Please post a screen shot of the status report from the app, from the battery/signal indicator down through the SD card info. -
I have went out to the camera and manually formatted the card (card in camera). I have tried formatting the card through the app many times on multiple cards and it will never go through. Always says pending. Haven't found a pattern yet. It just randomly goes out. I clean off the pictures quite frequently so the card doesn't get full. I don't have all of my camera info with me right now but can send it later. I looked back on an email and found a Device ID. Will that work?

Your batteries are low. That isn't helping anything.
How long are you waiting for the format command to complete? It won't happen until after the next time the camera contacts the server, which may be the midnight status report.
The camera has only transmitted 430 pics. The card shouldn't be filling up with that few pics, even with photo + video.
Do you have several scheduled event photos? If not, you may want to do that so that you know that the camera should be checking in with a photo several times a day.
How do you know that the camera hasn't been sending photos because of a bad SD card? Have you checked the SD card to see whether there were pictures on it that didn't get sent to you?

The batteries have only been in the camera since October 31st. So when the battery indicator gets down to 3 bars then I need to replace the batteries?
I have waited for over a day for the format command to complete, then I would just cancel it b/c it wasn't going through. I've only been using the camera since October 31st. Seems a bit odd for the SD cards to be going bad so frequently.
At first I had the camera set for every hour so I could see when the cattle came to water. Then I switched to every 2 hours. Just today I switched to scheduled events. It is now scheduled to take a picture 3 times a day, that's all I need really.
I'm assuming the SD was bad from all of the other reviews/comments that I have read. When I check the app in the morning and the last photo was from the previous day at 6:00 p.m. and I don't receive anything for 2 days, I'm assuming it is the SD card. I checked the card and I received every picture it took. It's like the camera just stops taking pictures. So I replace the SD card (b/c I'm reading others' comments) and then all seems to work.
What else could it be? Wireless issues? Camera issues? Just looking for answers at this point. It seems like a lot of maintenance.

Batteries are a number of pics thing, not a time thing. Something is making your camera use batteries.
Can you please post a picture of the SD cards you have tried? Are you formatting them in the camera (from the camera menu) when you put one in the camera?
Can you please post screen shots of all your camera settings from the app? There may be something there that is "off"?
When you waited over a day for the format command to work, did the camera send a midnight status report after you requested the format and the format did not work?

So the goal is to get pictures at 7 AM, noon, and 4 PM, not motion-triggered photos at all (which makes perfect sense because you just need to see the water level, not any activity). But you aren't even getting the scheduled event photos at times.
Have you looked at the portal (my.spartancamera.com) to see whether there are gaps in the picture numbers, indicating that some pics were taken but not sent (the missing numbers)? Have you checked the SD card to see whether the event pics were taken but not sent?

Did you delete pictures from the web site? Pictures on the web site are purged after 30 days so everything from the last 30 days should be there unless you deleted them. Deleting them from the SD card only deletes them from the SD card. Deleting them from the app only deletes them from the app. (I recommend that you not delete from the app, just set purge days in the app setting [second tab on the app] to however many days you want to keep. I use 7 on most of my devices.)

Here's what's odd. See the time on that status report? It's not at any of the usual times for your scheduled events. Now if you were at the camera and did something to it at that time, that would explain it. However, if you haven't done anything with that camera, something is up. It tried to send a picture at 12:38. Since you didn't get one, that means that the SD card is probably at fault. The puzzle is why it tried to do anything at that time since you have sensitivity turned off.
It's best not to delete anything from the app or server. Just let the software take care of things. -
Sadye, try this. Default the camera in it's menu and then take and send a manual picture by waiting for the camera to find signal while in set up and then pressing the ok button once to take a picture and then pressing it again to send the picture. If you get that successfully turn the camera on and try and get it to send a motion triggered picture. If that works make sure that your settings are the way you want them on the app and update them, then trigger the camera to send another motion trigger picture and see if the settings update successfully. If they do put the camera out and see how things go.

I did everything as outlined in the previous post. Camera on motion trigger and sent pictures all afternoon. I took the trigger off and tried to set up scheduled events. No more pictures. I tried updating again but this time to take a picture every 4 hours. No pictures. So why all of a sudden do I not get any pictures? I'm on the app and it still says it is waiting to update. Is the server and camera not communicating? Is changing the settings in the app messing something up with the camera? How can I go from 40 pictures in a couple hours to no pictures no a couple hours?
-
Did you change the sensitivity from the camera menu or from the app?
The camera doesn't update until after the next time it contacts the server. If you used the app, it should have updated after the last picture it took/sent and it should not send motion pics but it should sent event pics. If you set it to time lapse every four hours, you mentioned no pics in a couple of hours, but did four hours pass after the last photo?

From the app.
At first I changed it so it would take a picture at 16 and 17. No pictures at 18:30. So I changed it again, removed those scheduled times and changed to take a picture every 2 hours. Update still pending and it's been over 2 hours. Looking at the status report, last completed update was 12:45. So it seems the updates and camera are not communicating... -
What is sounds like is that you changed the sensitivity, but not the additional scheduled events. That would be what I would guess happened if you hadn't told me otherwise. Request a settings update again, with the scheduled events, and see if it happens at midnight with scheduled event 1. You may want to turn time lapse on every 2-4 hours (just long enough to get some pics without being completely annoyed by them).
If I were you, I'd use all 10 scheduled events. Request the pics at the times you want them, then have status reports for all the others at the other times you choose. That will keep the camera checking in frequently.
