The solar panel and the lithium will keep the internal battery charged. So during the day when the sun is out the panel will be doing the charging. At night or very cloudy days the lithium aa's will be the ones charging the internal battery. Have you tried it with just the panel? I have one going for over a year now with no batteries inside the camera.

    Thanks for the info.

Yes at this time we only have the Solar Panel out since June with no batteries and it seems to work good, but we have had a lot of sunny days but usually come Nov. we have less sun and more pics.

I just wasn't sure if the Lithium Batteries would give it a little more insurance in case we have like 3 to 4 days without sun?

Do you know about how many pic one solar charge can hold without sun?

    Thanks, Marion

When I tested it it was around 250-270 pictures when the internal was fully charged.
