Battery banks on 4G

On the standard 6v go cams , they use 6 volts so the 2 rows of 6 (12 batteries) must be segregated into 3-4 banks so 4AAs = 6 volts. 

Is there a diagram of which 4 batteries do what or are they all 3 in parallel powering everything together ?

I was short batteries today so I put 5 in the top and 5 in the bottom. Camera works and shows #5.  Going to fill the empty slots tomorrow, was curious if some component was under/not powered or being short 1 in each row will just result in power loss quicker.

  All groups of batteries do everything Phil. 4 batteries in the camera do the exact same thing(s) as 8 or 12, just not as long. The 5th you put in top and bottom I wouldn’t think are doing anything.

  Makes sense, they are in parallel , so it’s 2 on the top and 2 on the bottom , over then next 2 on the top and bottom etc...
