Customer Service 2021
Spartan owner since 2017. Currently running six Spartan cell cams and a host of a competitors cell cams: 17 total cell cams. Upgraded Spartans in January 2020 purchasing 3 new cams. After having trouble with one not triggering. Recently activated one of the three new cams. Started taking pink tinted pics. Called Spartan Support earlier today. Techs busy, left a call back number. Later today missed the call back from the tech. Called the number back the tech gave me on my voicemail. Called got another message “all techs at helping other customers.” Left another message. Sometime later Charlene called. Nice lady, looked my problem cam up told me to go online and fill out a return request. Told Charlene I’d already spent half a day attempting to contact someone in Spartan Tech Support. She still couldn’t help me. Asked to speak to her supervisor. Spoke to Alex. Repeated what Charlene told me. After going over all the details of my faulty cam again was told to email my info with a copy of my receipt. Told Alex I purchased the 3 new cams last year from Spartan. Looked it up and sent me a copy of my invoice to attach to my repair request. Point being I spent half a day trying to get a return authorization number for a faulty Spartan cell cam that I bought to replace another faulty Spartan trailcam. Alex did a good job keeping his cool with a very unhappy customer. The process for returning faulty cams is not customer friendly. It fails in stark comparison to Spartan’s competitors. I’m use to dealing with the helpful Spartan Tech Support like William
Arthur, and Johnny Lockburner, and others. Not downing Alex and Charlene, but the process of acquiring an RA # leaves much to be desired. Three or four years ago tech problems with Spartan cams gave us all headaches. Thanks to people like William and Johnny some of us stuck with Spartan. Your tech advances are above your competitors, however Spartan camera dependability lags behind your competitors. Therefore it might behoove someone above Alex to take a look at customer service in that area.
