GC-4Gi won't stop taking pictures

I just renewed my plan yesterday and took the test photo and it came out fine, then I went and put my camera out at my hunting spot and now it is taking photos all the time.  I made sure there was nothing in the way that could blow around and cause false triggers. From the app, I since switched the camera to 30 minutes between photos and Low Sensitivity so that I don't waste my total 3 month data plan in just a couple of days.  It is now taking pictures with nothing in them every 30 minutes, almost to the minute.  What could be wrong?

    Is there a T or M on the info strip on the bottom of the pictures?

    Try requesting a video to see if maybe it's a bird or something else blowing that might be triggering it.

    I would turn the sensitivity back to normal too.

    I switched it to video and a one minute time interval with the normal level of sensitivity and let it go for three pictures and they were taken every one minute almost exactly on the one minute. Nothing moving or no birds flying in the picture. I just Switched it back to photos and I switched the time interval to 60 minutes so it just doesn’t eat my plan. I left the sensitivity on normal. One other thing that I forgot to mention is that I forgot to set the time and date on the camera yesterday before I put it out, but I don’t see how that would contribute to this issue. An y other ideas?

    You can set all of that in the app. Is the time zone set in the camera settings on the app?

    What do I have to tap on to to get the date and time set up in the App?  I have the time zone set (New York UTC 0:400), but I don't see a date or time in the App.  

    Any other suggestions for the timed empty pics?

    It will set itself, was it already set or did you just set it?

    It was already set, but the time and date have not updated since I turned on the cam and took my Test pic yesterday.  The date says 01/01/2018 on the pic and the hour says 23:36.56 on the pic the camera just sent the App about 35 minutes ago .  That would have been around 1:40pam local time.

    Try a settings update again and also request a status report.

    It just now listed todays date and time.  Do you think I should update my settings to my desired 10 second time interval between pics and see if it continues to send blank pics approximately every 10 seconds?  Or, should I just request a status report

    I updated the setting and it is still doing the same thing.  Taking pics all the time.

    Might be an overactive sensor. Is the firmware up to date?

    Is there any chance that the camera has gotten ants in it or that a woodpecker has pecked on the PIR sensor cover? I’ve had cameras go bonkers for both those things.

    It was working fine when I took it out of service late last fall.  I was bucked-out early last season so I didn't even have it out in the winter.  Plus, I always take the batteries out of my cams when I get done using them and are going to store them so the battery terminals don't corrode.

    Can you post a few of of the pictures the camera is taking? You may have to set your phone to desktop view in order to see the inert image icon.

    No wind today.  Had camera set on 1 minute and as you can see it is automatically taking pics in the

    1min. 20 sec. range

    Do you have it on photo + video? Have you requested a video or two to see if there is anything moving?

    Yes, John Lockburner had me set it to video earlier and absolutely nothing was moving in the 4 video's it took.  I have a bear box and I even mounted it into the same screw holes in the same tree I used last season.  I put the camera out in early August last year and I bet I didn't have 6 blank pics in the whole 3 1/2 months I had the cam out last season and now I have about 250 in just one day.

    Sorry. I remember you set it to video only. I've dealt with a bunch of other things. I don't know what Johnny will say, but I think you should talk to support. 770-582-0004 9 AM - 6 PM Eastern M-F. You may have a bad PIR sensor.

    I called and left them a message earlier this morning and have yet to hear from them, so I am sure they are busy.  Hopefully they will call me back.  Thanks for your suggestions..

    Chad, I would take the camera and place it face down in a closet and see if it keeps triggering.

    Yeah, I’m going to have to go to my hunting property sometime in the next few days and get the cam. I’ll let you know how it reacts to the face down in the dark closet. Thanks for all your time and responses John
