This may have already been asked, but can I use standard lithium or alkaline batteries in conjunction with an external battery & solar panel or do I need to install rechargeable batteries in my GoCam?

  You can run whatever batteries you want inside the camera. They don't need to be rechargeable. Just keep an eye on them If they are in the camera for a long time to make sure they don't leak.

  Thanks bud, that’s what I was thinkin but wanted to be sure considering how much these things cost lol I’d hate to eat one just because I don’t ask a simple question

  If you can open and close the camera with the external power cord plugged in, you don’t need any AA at all unless you are concerned that the power cord will get unplugged somehow.
