I wish I had an answer for you. I’m sharing this with my support contacts. I will let you know what I hear back. May be a day or two.

In command history, FW update successful just means that the FW file was downloaded, not that it actually installed. (That’s just an explanation of why you are seeing the update completed in command history but it’s not showing as current in the status report.)

Did you call or email support? If so, has anyone gotten back with you?

Yes I received a call yesterday. I was told it was an sd card issue. So I got a new sandisk 32gb class 10 120mb/s card, formatted in my brand new Spartan cam and Attempted the firmware update and had exact same problem. I called back but no response yet.

As you can see from the screen shot, this is a brand new camera. I used a brand new sd card and formatted. I requested the firmware update and it showed completed, but still shows that it needs a firmware update. And the firmware description is the same firmware/date that was on the camera when I received it. So it has “completed” the firmware update twice but still shows the same firmware and that it still needs updated.

What does the “camera message 12/23/2021” mean? I believe that is the latest firmware available for my model camera. I can’t understand why it will not install the update?

Now that I have traveled out to get my camera, bring it home to download the 12/23/2021 firmware on my computer and upload it manually, the firmware is now gone from the Spartan support download page (GC-Z4Gb2). This is getting extremely frustrating. Is this solely an issue with my model cameras? I can’t find anything about anyone having the same issue yet I’ve been having this issue on 5 camera for a few weeks.

Now the cams all show that they are currently up to date on the firmware…however I have 3 different “up to date” firmware versions on the same model cameras (all are GC-Z4Gb2)..

Apparently the latest version has been pulled. Download the one that’s available and install it manually on any camera that isn’t working.

There is no firmware available to be downloaded that I can see.

On the firmware download page, I see firmware for GC-Z4Gb, GC-Z4Gb2-DB, GC-Z4Gc2, and GC-Z4Gi. You should be able to use the GC-Z4Gb2-DB version on all your cameras.

Luke, even if it's the same version as what's on the camera reloading it can sometimes help

Thanks Elizabeth, i saw that but I was unsure what the “DB” meant?

And thanks John, but I didn’t see any downloads available specifically for GC-Z4Gb2. I will try the DB version and see what happens. The camera that still has the 9/17/2021 version sent a video this morning time stamped as 8/9/2021 00:04:26..the actual time was about 8:30am

Is your time zone set in the camera settings on the app?

Yea it was and still is set as correct time zone. It hasn’t sent a vid for 10 days, this is the first time it’s show the wrong date/time. Full 5 bars of service and full battery.

Last last video it sent over a week ago was correct date and time. I know it’s not sending/taking all the pics it should be because the corn is gone.

Also Elizabeth, the DB firmware version is actually a previous version of firmware compared to all the current versions on my cameras. Is that going to cause further issues with the cameras?

can you post some of the command history from the drop down menu blow the status report?

Going back to a previous version won't hurt anything

Your cameras aren't working. You need to take them back to a FW version that works. As Johnny says, going back to an older working version won't hurt. (I think the DB stands for the pattern version, but I'm not sure.)
