Spartan GoLive - Speaker is screeching when going live

Please contact tech support about the noise. I’m running several GoLives (both the original and the GL 2) on either solar or solar + external battery and don’t have that obnoxious sound when I live stream but I am aware that it does happen sometimes.

If the camera won’t go live, close the app and reopen it. Sometimes the app, server, and camera have to reconnect and closing/reopening the app makes that happen.

The camera does not have zoom capability. (That is a feature, not a quality issue.)

Is the screeching noise when you're at the camera trying the GoLive or wren you're in a different location than the camera?

It happens when we’re at home or anywhere away from the camera … it’s constant. It sounds like a motor running and screeching. Like I said we had the same result last year when we bought 2 cameras and ended up returning them. We’re told last year it was a bug that spartan was still trying to figure out. The same issue still exists

I have the same issue, all live audio sounds like a motor running. I hear other noises, like birds, but the motor noise is constant

I would let support know that it's still an issue and hopefully they can figure it out. I do know it is being looked into.

    Having this same issue :(
Seems from these comments there is no fix yet?

FYI for others who have the same issue with the sound. Spartan’s engineering team is aware of the issue however the issue has not made it to the top of the priority list to be scheduled. There’s no timeline as to when or even if spartan will fix the issue. We saw the issue a year ago and ended up returning the cameras for that reason. Based on discussions the engineering team doesn’t plan on fixing this issue anytime soon which is too bad.

I think that if it were an easy fix, it would have been done long ago. I’m running quite a few GoLive and GoLive II and seldom have that noise problem with either live stream or transmitted video. However, I have experienced it and I know there are some users who hear it pretty frequently. I’ve brought it up within the last couple of days and have been told, “it’s complex.”

From a troubleshooting perspective…if you rarely ever have the issue compared to others like myself who have the issue constantly (non stop) there’s got to be a difference somewhere? I understand from an engineering and support perspective complex issues take longer to resolve but does spartan even have a line of site into root cause? Is engineering even able to reproduce the issue consistently in order to debug and fix the underlying bug? If eng can’t reproduce the issue I’d be more than happy to send one of the cameras in so that eng can figure it out and at least get to root cause. Just disappointing we have a 5 spartan go cameras and we love em…we’re disappointed with the live cams. Maybe it’s just me but the audio issues are a show stopper and something that needs to fixed. No one wants to listen to a motor screeching constantly esp when your paying bug $$$ for a high end camera.

You need to talk to support and make your offer to them. They do not monitor this forum. Johnny and I are both camera test team members, not regular Spartan Camera employees.

I am not happy that it hasn't been fixed but I don't have any "pull" to get it fixed. All I can tell you is that all my cameras are on external power, either a solar panel alone or an external battery being charged by a solar panel. I have a couple of different setups for that. I don't live stream often, but transmitted videos sometimes have the same bad background noise.
