Paddle vs Flex vs High Gain Antenna

I’m presently using the default paddle antenna that came with my camera (Verizon GoLive 2), but it’s not connecting to any Verizon network in my location (very mountainous and hollows). I can drive about two-three miles toward the nearest tower and get a full strength signal. My question is, would the flex antenna help my signal strength at all, or should I just bite the bullet and go with the high gain directional antenna?

I was contemplating purchasing both the flex and the high gain, testing the flex, then if it didn’t help, returning it. But, if someone has any history with my similar location, this would save me some trouble, thanks.

  The paddle antenna is just slightly better than the flex antenna so if the paddle isn't working the flex definitely won't help.

  Thanks John, the high gain directional sure is a lot of hardware to install, but if that works, I’ll be satisfied.

  I have two Verizon GL 2 that wouldn’t get on the network at our camp. I put directional antennas on them and they are working great.

  Terry, I use them too and it makes a difference. It takes a little while to get the aim perfect but it's well worth it.
