Overview
The GoCam 2 now provides a more accurate battery indicator, making it easier to monitor your power levels. You can check the battery levels in two places:
- The status report from your camera.
- The info strip on your photos (bottom right corner).
Unlike models like the Ghost, GoLive, or GoLive 2, the GoCam 2 does not have an internal battery. This means you need to rely entirely on AA or external batteries.
Here's what to do if your camera shows an empty battery icon:
- Replace dead AA batteries.
- Recharge any external lithium battery.
- Ensure all batteries are correctly installed and charged
Keeping your camera powered ensures uninterrupted performance.
Choose the Right Battery
- Ideal Setup: Use 12 AA batteries (1.2V–1.5V each) for the best performance.
- Emergency Use: Use 6 AA batteries in the top or bottom tray.
Understanding the Battery Indicator
The GoCam 2 displays the battery status based on the external voltage level. Use the table below to interpret the power level icons:
External Voltage |
Icon |
Description |
≥9.0v |
|
P5 Fully Charged |
7.8v - 8.9v |
P3 |
|
7.2v - 7.7v |
P1 |
|
6.8v - 7.1 |
P0 The external batteries are dead/are not charging the camera. |
Important: The GoCam 2 cannot report voltage below 6.8V. If the voltage drops below this threshold, the camera may not have enough power to send a status update or operate properly.
