Hey was just trying to figure out why cameras quit working? All three of my go cams quit working the first of November. They seem to quit every year around last two weeks of October!  Just curious if there is anything that I can do to prevent this! It’s happened about 4-5 years in a row. I have been able to get two of them working again but my newest camera is still not working or sending a status report. Thanks jimmy

Does the new camera get on the network? What is the exact model? Has the newest camera ever worked? (If not, it’s possible that it needs a firmware update.) Are you using a “to spec” SD card?

Yes it worked fine all summer. It is a go-z4gb2. I can turn it off and back on and it will work for an hour or so then quit. I’d love to know why my Spartans quit every year around end of October or first of November. App says firmware is up to date

Can you take a screenshot of the most recent status report and post it here please. Make sure it includes the SD card info at the bottom of the report. You might have to switch your phone to desktop view too see the insert image icon here.

I’ve tried few different sd cards over last few weeks.  I’ve been formatting them on camera also.  After I do that it usually works for a few pic sometimes half a day then quits again.  Also I have another camera that will drain a new set of ultimate lithium batteries in under  40 pics.

What is the camera model? Also, that SD card is an 8gb card. There are very few 8gb cards that are to spec. Make sure the cards are 32gb or smaller, class 10, 80 mbs or faster and a full sized not a micro in an adapter.

On the camera going through batteries quickly make sure that power save is turned on in the camera settings.

Hey the camera will send videos fine. Is there any additional cost to operate the camera in video mode

No there's no extra costs. Videos will use more battery and data than just photo or photo+video though

After a couple hours, the camera will not send videos or pictures. I took the camera on an out of state hunt and it did not work at all. I’ve had the same problem with Spartan cameras the last few years. The cameras stop working the last week of October when I need them most. I’m very disappointed in the company because no one can tell me why the cameras work great in summer and early season but stop working in late October. The camera that will not send pictures, I cannot get to work at all now. It is a new camera, bought this year, and worked fine all summer. Any help at all would be appreciated! Thanks, Jimmy

    Jimmy,

For your privacy, please edit your post and delete your phone number. No one from support monitors the page and neither of us who do will call you.

There is nothing magic about October, which is why no one can explain why they quit working in October. Whatever the reason, it doesn't have anything to do with the month or the season.

The status report you posted is from November but I'm guessing that was from you testing the camera.

It may need a firmware update. Yours is slightly more recent FW than mine, though, so I don't think that's it.

Have you tried difference SD cards, formatted SD in camera, reset camera to defaults?

Does the camera pass the Hello test?

What's the status of your ticket with support?

I’ve tried several different sd cards and formatted them in the camera! The camera will send a pic manually and will work for a little while then just quit. I’m not sure what you mean as far as resetting tot defaults

In the camera's third menu tab, somewhere below Format is the command to reset the camera to defaults.

When it quits, is it still taking pics but not sending them or not taking pics at all? Is it checking in with status reports?

I don’t think it’s taking pics when it quits and it doesn’t send status reports
