The GoLIves do have the take a photo now feature and the live stream is controlled by the app. You can also record the stream and take a screenshot of it.

In addition to the things you asked about and Johnny verified, the GoLive can take videos in three different resolutions and from 5 to 30 seconds long. The videos aren’t cropped top and bottom like they are on GoCams and Ghosts and there’s no 2-second gap between the photo and the video in photo + video mode because the photo is taken from the video.

Also, the GoLive has an internal battery so in many circumstances, it can be run with just a solar panel.

Here’s a comparison chart so you can see how it compares to the GoCam.

Oh, and the GoLives are on sale for $300 right now so this is a great time to get one (or more)!

Thank You! I just ordered 2 GoLive cams. I like the spec improvements and the threaded power connector as black bears have unplugged my GoCams. I wish Spartan would include antennas without the hinge. A chipmunk can push over the OEM Spartan antenna. Also, they should put the antenna connector on the side of the camera to avoid leak problems when remote antennas are used.

The antennas will still work when pushed over and in my opinion it's better to have that antenna hinge over than just beak off. I have a lot of bears to deal with as well. They have no mercy for the cameras. As long as that rubber gasket is in place there won't be any leaks when using one of the Spartan remote antennas.
