ATT Dataconnect Sim card vs Spartan cam sim card

Why do some cameras come with att dataconnect sim cards and others come with sim cards that have to be activated through spartan cam website? The dataconnect plans are a lot cheaper. Thanks for your help!

    DataConnect plus premium is similar total for some plans. There have been a lot of problems with people not understanding about premium service (high percent of support calls when the first free month runs out) so SC has started bundling data+premium for one monthly price. 

    If you get a camera with a Spartan SIM, you can still get an AT&T SIM or use one that you have.

    That makes sense. Just wish that was spelled out a little clearer on the website somewhere. Hard to find the proper information. Thanks for your help!
