Im only getting 2 weeks off new batteries
I’ve been running a gc atti since September and I’m roughly getting 2 weeks until my batteries are dead. It’s becoming quite annoying.
I’m running this cam at my house which is residential with good cell reception etc. I can’t trust it enough to put out at the farm bc I’d be constantly messing with it.
I’m occasionally running it on a feeder so I do get a lot of night time pics, but I’m getting at least a month or longer from my coverts in the same setup.
I don’t have any real-time or anything setup that would be constantly searching and use up the batteries. I can’t keep swapping 12 batteries every 2 weeks. Other than this I really like the spartan cams over the coverts.
I’m running regular Duracell or energizer alkaline batteries.
Is there any customer support I can email about this?

Is the firmware up to date? What size pics are you having transmitted? Normally with standard alkaline I'd say you should get around 450 of the larger size 1280 images transmitted. Much more if using the smaller 640 size. Have you tried lithium batteries or thought of going to an external rechargable?

Thanks for the reply. Yes my firmware is up to date. I am using the large size images, so if that’s the case I’m probably definitely getting 450 in those 2 weeks.
I’m considering lithium, solar panel or even rechargables bc 12 batteries every two weeks is getting expensive.
I just wanted to make sure my camera wasn’t messed up and causing this. Perhaps I’ll change the image size and replace the batteries and see how long that gets me.
It’s crazy I can only get 450 pics out of a set of batteries

Those 1280 size pics take longer to transmit then the 640's so if you switch to the smaller size you'll see a substantial difference. I like the rechargeable 6volt 12ah SLA batteries myself. I'll get around 1500 of the large pics on a charge and depending on where you shop you can find them for $8-$12. Just get two and a charger and an adapter that plugs in to the camera and you'll be good to go. Spartan sells a battery box that works really really really well and Mike at herd 360 has some of his own boxes and he sells the Spartan box.

12 Ah 6V batteries should be about $15 or less each, shipped, from Amazon or eBay.
You can buy the cable from Herd360 or HCO.
Rechargeable batteries AA batteries aren’t cheap and you need a charger for them. They may not give you are many pictures as the alkalines but you don’t have to feel like squeezing the last drop of power out of them before changing them. (BTW, if you are a Costco member, their AA batteries are rated pretty well and are not expensive, although alkaline batteries aren’t the best because they leak and don’t work well in cold weather.)
I’m running all of my cameras with external batteries, most with solar panels. That route is not inexpensive but it does mean you should be able to go long periods of time without touching the camera.
