ATT 4 G plans
If you signed up for a monthly plan and realize it’s not going to be enough data, how do you switch to one of the other plans with more data without losing what’s left that’s been paid for and before it auto renews to the same monthly plan if it blows through the data. This is an att plan through spartan
on buy a session you could see how much data you’ve used , how do you see data usage when it’s attt through spartan ?
One more....how much data do the small/large video 10 sec clips use ?
thanks

I donut have an answer for your first set of questions.
I don’t think there’s a way to see how much data you’ve used.
Large daytime video clips typically use a little under 6 MB unless you have a very busy background and it’s windy. Those are about double. Short clips use about half that and night clips use less than day clips.

Spartan Suport said videos are 3-5 meg (guess small/large). That means 12-15 videos will blow through a monthly plan data. I think I blew through mine on day 1, but can’t tell since data usuage isn’t visible now. Looks like using the cool video option is not really viable with the 4G ATT option. I know some guys using only video with the Verizon 4G but they have it on their personal data plan with unlimited data.
Does the subscription cost through Spartan for ATT 4G include premium ? I think it said premium was included. If it is, that would put a similar cost to run a cam on pic mode about $3 more a month more than when going through buy a session and paying spartan premium when buying an annual option. If it’s not included , it would $6 or so more a month than it cost to run a 3G cam monthly. Which doesn’t seem like much, unless you have 12 cams 😳.
They need to get users access to their data usuage like buy a session had, otherwise you’re blind and it’s difficult to manage. Spartan Support emailed me last night saying that is coming.

I don’t know what the limits are for the various plans. The day videos are about 5.5 MB (based on my testing) so I round up to 6.
My most active camera on BAS used just over 3 G in 13 months, so about 250 MB per month. I’m running 15 or 16 or 17 cams on BAS. Only 3 or 4 are the old pic only. The rest are 3G and 4G video-capable cams and I do request videos from most of the cams.
Spartan plans include premium. The 3 month plan is probably the Best Buy if it works for you.
You can run the 4G cams on BAS, you just need to get a SIM from AT&T.

The three month plan I think is much better data and cost wise then the single month. You'll have to cancel the one month plan before you can change it to a different plan. I guess the way things are now you'll have to just guess when to cancel it. You might lose a few dollars worth of data but in the long run it will save you money.
