Toolman, where are you located? have you checked your premium credits if you are using premium?

It is also possible that Verizon has started shutting down 3G service. If your premium credits are okay, then you may want to check with Verizon. The 12/31/2019 deadline is not when Verizon begins the shutdown, it’s when it’s supposed to be completed.

Same issue here. My Verizon 4G cam works fine, Verizon 3G cam stopped doing anything yesterday afternoon. The last picture I got from it was at 1:23PM. Plenty of credits, unlimited data, external batteries with solar panels. I WILL say that this has happened before, it would go offline for a day or two and then suddenly come back online. We shall wait and see. I was going to buy a new Ghost Cam this fall, I may have to expedite that.

I had one of mine go down yesterday too and it just sent me a picture. It's something that is being worked on by tech I just found out so hopefully everything will back to operational soon.

    Toolman,

The end of the year is not when the shutdown starts, it’s when everything will be shut down. Shutdowns will occur in some places before that date.

Fortunately, it looks like that’s not what’s happening here.

I deal with GPS devices in my business (auto finance). According to what my GPS people are telling me, they usually don't just shut down a service, but let it die, ie they don't fix it when it breaks. I'm not sure how long 2G hasn't been supported, but I still have a very few 2G devices in the field. Some places they work, some they don't. I don't know if this is relevant to the 3G shutdown, as I do not have any 3G devices in the field, but I suspect it may be. BTW, the GPS devices use cellular to transmit location data.

Verizon hasn't shut down their 2g service yet but they are with the 3g. They have said that it will be turned off on the 31st of December 2019. I know when ATT turned off 2g in January of 2017 they just threw the switch and shut it down. It appears Verizon is going to do the same thing.

I just got a couple pics from my 3G cam. Maybe we're back online now.
