Firmware update available for several 4G models,

There are firmware updates available for the GC-A4G, GC-LR4, GC-U4G, and GC-Z4G that make it possible for you to format the SD card in the camera using the app. That feature will also be available in the GC-W4G but that firmware is not available just yet. (It is not and will not be available for any of the 3G models or the GC-V4G.)

Firmware updates can now be requested from the Status Report page in the app.

Once the FW is updated, you will see a red FORMAT button on the Status Report page in the app. You may have to wait until the next time the camera contacts the server after it updates the FW for that option to appear.

If you format the SD card, all photos on it will be gone so you will not be able to request HD or video for any “old” photos. You will be given a warning to that effect before you confirm that you do want to format. You can cancel the pending command just as you can any other pending command.

Once the SD card has been formatted, the camera will take/send a photo that will show F on the info strip to confirm that the format has completed.
