Have you checked the portal (www.spartancamera.com) to see if the pictures are there?

Please try logging out of the app and back in and also restarting your phone. Do you have the latest version of the app installed.

Here’s an article about a different API error. I don’t think this is your situation, but it won’t hurt to check.

If I click on the camera in the app and request a report it just spins and spins . Like it’s not getting any connection at all with the camera

The app doesn’t connect to the camera. The camera sends pics to the portal (web site) and the app talks to the portal. All communications go through the portal.

What steps are you using to request a report?

Are you using external power? How's the battery life on the camera? What size and class SD card are you using?

You might have to go to the camera for further diagnosis. Can you check and see if the cameras firmware is up to date on the app? I'm assuming this is a new camera that you just set up? What model is the camera and where did you purchase your data plan from?

Was there any resolution here?  I'm having the same problem.  Pics were actually coming out rapid fire yesterday when I set it up, so I turned off the remote send to stop getting a picture every three minutes.  Haven't been able to reach the camera since.

I found the firmware was out of date, so tried updating it, but all of my actions show as pending.  Brand new batteries, 32gb SD card.

What do you mean you turned off the remote send?

On the wireless settings.  Remote send, yes or no.  I changed it to no because I was getting pictures of an empty field every 3 minutes for two hours.  When I changed it back to yes later, it doesn't respond

When you send a command or request the camera won't get it until it checks in by sending either a picture or status report. Since you turned off the sending your going to have to wait until it sends a status report for it to update the settings. If you have other pending commands that you made before the settings change it will update those first so you may want to cancel them. The only time a command is instant is on the older 3g models if real time was turned on.

This is a 4G model, but not the latest.  I've scheduled an update to turn it back on tonight with nothing else pending.  We'll see what happens tomorrow.  Hopefully, it doesn't start sending me pictures of nothing every three minutes again!

Do the nothing pics have a T or M on the bottom info strip?

    T.

Rumor has it, I’m looking at a 5 hour round trip to restart the camera and update the firmware.

T means the camera is set to time lapse and it's going to send you a picture at whatever interval that you have it set to even if there's nothing in front of the camera, you can turn that off from the app. If you want to email me your portal log in information I can see if there's something we can do to save you a trip. My email is johnny.lockburner@spartancamera.com

    smattews,

You should be able to do a setting change to turn time lapse off. Then you should be able to do the firmware update over the air. If not, you can do a manual update next time you go to the camera.

Johnny will probably be able to get you fixed up.

I think that inquery error is just for the app and has nothing to do with the camera, it might be poor signal strength for you phone at that time.

I have a brand new camera.  I purchased the data plan from Spartan.  The camera takes a photo but the send fails each time.  The portal shows 0 photos from my camera, but the camera appears to have a connection to the network.
