HunterJOEY Verizon advanced Tech dept said there were no known issues in my area.

Carriers sometimes interrupt networks because they are trying to add 5G capabilities. They then just say there are network issues. Not that this is the case here, but totally possible.

Wooley, understood. Entering number is an important step so maybe that would clear your issues hopefully.

Guys please understand this isn't something that a tech you call is going to know about, we have seen this more frequently with ATT but it does happen with Verizon from time to time. We call it throttling, basically the cell carrier is blocking, rerouting , delaying your pictures. There is nothing Spartan can do about it. It usually clears up eventually and sometimes the pictures start coming in slowly, other times all at once and sometimes you might not get them at all. One thing you have to realize that even though the photos are going to your text message inbox they are not a text but an email sent to you. While still not as efficient as the app you may want to change from having the pictures sent to your text messages to having them sent to a normal email account. I actually have a Gmail account that is pretty much only used for my pics.

Jdeerhunterpics, thanks for that info. Could you take a guess why a carrier would reroute or block?

I don't know whether they think it's spam or they just don't want all the pictures clogging up their system, remember the pics don't go from the camera directly to you, they go to the Spartan server and then are sent to email addresses and the app. I imagine this time of year there's a very heavy volume of pics being sent over the air.

It's probably a good strategy to have a multiple camera set-up with different carriers.

It's not the cameras carrier that's causing the issues it's your cell phone carrier. The cameras are sending the pictures to the server just fine and people using the app should have no problem, it's only customers getting the pictures through text. If your aren't getting the pics to your app then there's something else going on.

Yes, I am not getting email notifications or pics in the app. But that still may just be ATT since, as you said, pics go first to the server and ATT may be preventing pics going to the server in the first place. Spartan only suggested making sure app was up to date (although I was having other issues that such a suggestion would be appropriate.)

I won't let me change the email recipients address on the spartan website after logging in.  It will just let me check or uncheck the ones I currently have on the system.

Remember the email recipients are in a different location, they are under "account" not "camera"

    Shelinski,

Are you going to Account > Email Contacts? I was able to backspace through an email address and type another one there.

I got my one 9 PM text pic. Hopefully it’s starting to sort itself out.

Looks like the problem is back.  Pictures going to the portal but not to Verizon email address which shows up as a text on the phone.

Same here, I am getting an occasional text pic but most  aren't showing up. They are getting to the app and regular email address though

Spartan called this morning to follow up and they’re now saying it’s an issue that’s out of their hands. My app seems
To be working, I’m skeptical because I’m new to it. I did get some pictures last night and I did get a status report sent at midnight. That being said my big buck has been a no show for over 24hrs for the first time in weeks.

Question for the app/premium users. Can you still get the picture texts (when everything is working) in addition to the push notifications from the app? My texts (which were basically emails, I know) were almost instantaneous and allowed me to catch 3 burglars back in June at 04:01 am. It seems the pictures coming through the app are delayed by 2 minutes or so.

Nothing is working here. No real time commands, no scheduled events, no motion sensing. App up-to-date. Now has been over 24 hrs with nothing.

When I say catch I don’t just mean I got a photo. I mean I got the text, was out of bed dressed (shorts and shoes) armed and out the door within a minute and using thermal optics located the 3 suspects moved to within 20 yards undetected in the pitch black and then present my rifle and very loudly demand they show me their ______ing hands!

Wooley, this is 100% out of Spartans control. If you are using premium you can go to the portal and view all of your pictures and see that the camera is working fine and sending the pics. If just using Auto then that's not an option.

Joey, if you aren't getting pics to the app then something else is causing your issues. Where are you getting your data from?

Data is from ATT. I got off the phone with them just now and they say there are no network issues in the area. Spartan confirms everthing ok on there end. May have to go out in the field and turn cam off and on. I think though Spartan has maintenance scheduled noon to 2pm.

I would definitely wait until after the maintenance to go to the camera. Have you checked your premium credits?

Premium credits and phone data plan are all good. Thanks.

Yes, will wait until after the maintenance. I don't think any camera will work at that time if I am not mistaken.

I haven’t seen an email about the maintenance and cameras possibly not working at noon today. Is this new or something they sent out a few days ago?

No they will not work during that time. What is the P# on the bottom right corner of the last set of night pictures? Make sure you look at night pictures.

What does P # mean. Why do you say night pics only?

  • John Lockburner

P# on the bottom right of the pictures is battery power. I say at night because that's when the flash is used so it will give you a more accurate reading. Do you see anything other than P5?
