I don’t mess with the camera settings except with the app controls. Even I. The field I used the app to switch from camera to video

Keep in mind everything was working fine until I enabled the firmware update via the app. Once completed it hasn’t sent a status update or sent a video from a triggered event

Ok, that makes more sense. Can you take a screenshot of your command history and post it? It should show under your status report on the app

I know I saw the add pic button on computer today at work but the iPhone isn’t showing that option. Any ideas? I have captured pic of command status but can’t get it in the forum text space

My camera won’t do anything! I go to setup and all it says is You don’t have to be there! Won’t take pictures or nothing

Morgan, remove the SD card and see if you get something different on the screen. What is the camera model?

I bet your right with them being busy with phone calls about their app. It’s JUNK! Somehow spypoint can make a app that works and sell cameras for $100 but spartan sells cameras for 379 (what I paid last year) and charges for a app that doesn’t work. Blows my mind!

Make no mistake I am not bashing Spartan.  In my opinion for my application and what I expect out of a trail cam they are the leader.  I own several of these and I love them.  I have used them now for several years.  I can't stand actually checking a camera anymore.  I am spoiled rotten.  Think of where we were not so long ago.  I am an electrical engineer and I specialize in Micro electronics. I was a part of a group some time ago that built home made trail cameras for the public. I made boards that could interface to digital cameras and we made video systems. I made systems that transmitted audio and video across several miles.  The cameras of today are much more advanced than what I can do at home.  We as consumers expect a lot from a leading company like Spartan and they do charge a premium for their cameras. I think they are doing the best they can and due to overwhelming demand there will be growing pains.  I hope Spartan will use the efforts of eswoope and jdeerhunterpics and this forum to help optimize their camera systems for the future.  I appreciate their efforts in helping everyone.

I knew better than to do a firmware upgrade OTA in my remote location but my darn engineer self had to push the button.  Once again I appreciate there help and I was hoping there might be a trick to waking the system up after such a task and I figured they might know.  There are several hidden items I have found over the last few years by pushing buttons so I had hope just in case.

    bkgennings,

    Thanks for your comments.

Most of the time, that OTA FW upgrade goes without a hitch, but there are always those few times and of course they happen in cases like yours with a distant camera rather than one that it’s not too inconvenient to get to.

On another note, MorganFlewelling contacted the FB page and there’s a pretty good chance that the class 4 SD card is causing the problems with that camera. Won’t know for sure until a new card can be tried.
