I've heard that the 3G GC-VZWb camera will no longer send images via wi-fi after December. Is that true?

Spartan cameras have never used WiFi to transmit images. I think you mean cell signal.

In June 2018, Verizon announced that they were sunsetting 3G service no later than December 31, 2019. However, it appears that they have pushed that back to December 31, 2020. They may sunset it in some areas before that date.

Just make sure you don't deactivate/cancel the plans. Verizon will not activate 3g devices anymore
