Remote picture comands
I have 6 cameras and out of the 6 only 2 will send pictures on command via text. They all appear to be sending pictures when detecting motion. What should I do to get things working right ?

There would be a delay because to turn power save on the camera would have to send a picture or status report to get the command and update the settings on the camera. What do you use the take a picture command for? Maybe we can figure out another way that won't drain your battery.

" What do I use the take a picture command for ? "
When I am away from home on occasion I like to take a picture and just check on things to make sure everything looks ok. For one example if I am away from home and a storm passes over my home I will take a picture just to see the severity of the storm or if there were any damage , there is no one else around to check these things out for me but with that said the cameras that I have at my house , barn etc are running on 110 so power save is not an issue , even if a camera is in the field and I have not seen a picture for sometime I still like to take a picture on command just to get an occasional visual.
I think this would be a nice feature to have which would allow this to be done , just a thought on my part from a customer's point of view.

I use scheduled event photos so I get pictures from every camera at 9 am, 3 pm, and 9 pm. Some of my cameras are in low traffic areas and won’t take any motion-triggered pics for weeks at a time if all is well. Having the scheduled event pics confirms that the cameras are working, they’re still there, and I get a good idea what the weather is like.
My test cameras are typically set to send pics at other times of the day, as well.
i think scheduled event pics would accomplish what you want.

I’m running a bunch of cameras so having scheduled pics is a lot more convenient that having to request them manually. There are times when manual request is a “better” option (e.g., checking on your hunting area right before you go in) but for routine taking a look at things, scheduled events are a no fuss, no bother way to do it.

Jeff the thing is you can have infinite control you just have to have power save turned off. You can't have it both ways. With power save off the camera stays connected so it can receive the commands instantly, to stay connected it's going to use more battery. With power save off it only connects to send the picture, video or status report. There is no other possible way to have it, it's not a matter of how it's designed it's just the way it has to be. If you're plugged in then it doesn't matter but running on battery power it's going to make a difference to most people.
