6 volt battery
If I use a 6 volt battery for my spartan blackout gocam do I still need to wire in a voltage regulator or is that just if I was using a 12 volt battery?

You don’t have to use batteries in the camera, but they do serve as a backup. I use a full set of rechargeable AA in mine, but you can use just four (rechargeable, lithium, or alkaline; two top and two bottom, preferably on the left side). If the camera is not a “2”, then the internal batteries allow you to test the camera and turn it on then plug in the external power. If you have any “2” model, then you can keep the power plugged in when opening and closing the camera case.
