    You shouldn’t need a voltage regulator with a 6V battery.

    Just want to be sure it's a battery only (no solar panel) with the panel you will want to use some type of control/regulator

    No just 6 volt battery. I would use a 12 volt but if the regulator messes up then it will frie my camera right? Do I have to use rechargeable batteries in the camera while using the 6 volt battery

    You don’t have to use batteries in the camera, but they do serve as a backup. I use a full set of rechargeable AA in mine, but you can use just four (rechargeable, lithium, or alkaline; two top and two bottom, preferably on the left side). If the camera is not a “2”, then the internal batteries allow you to test the camera and turn it on then plug in the external power. If you have any “2” model, then you can keep the power plugged in when opening and closing the camera case.

    Then a 6v battery is what you need and no you don't have to use rechargeable batteries in the camera.
